Camp Nou: Home of F.C Barcelona

One of the strongest aspects of the Spanish culture is their passion for football (soccer). Barcelona has one of the most famous football teams in the world. There will be no doubt that while walking through the streets of Barcelona, you will see more than one Barça jersey, displaying the rich blue and red stripes. Being a fan of the Barça football team is a chosen lifestyle full of cheers and excitement.

The game and team can be appreciated at the Museu del FC Barcelona and the Camp Nou Stadium, where the team plays. It is Barcelona’s most visited museum and is a must see for fans of the beautiful game. The stadium can hold up to 100.000 fans, making it the biggest stadium in Europe, and the 11th biggest in the world. Fans can, beyond doubt, learn why this club is “more than a club” (Mes que un club), here with the Camp Nou Experience.

The construction began in March of 1954 and was finally finished in September of 1957. At that time, the capacity was 60.000 Barça fans, and since then has expanded to the capacity that it has today. It has been used for football games, of course, but also for world-famous events like the 1982 FIFA World Cup and the final game of the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Fans can visit the Camp Nou stadium and have their own Camp Nou Experience. One can see the field upon which victories are made, and they can also visit the Museu del FC Barcelona to learn the history of the stadium and the team. This is where fans can truly strengthen their love affair with the game.
